ABOUT ME

Kechanté (she/her), a proud Cleveland native (216 represent!), is a passionate and dedicated artist on the rise. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre at Baldwin Wallace University (BWMT) where she is set to graduate in 2026. Before transitioning to musical theatre, she honed her craft with a year of classical acting training in the BFA Acting department. Her talent and dedication have led her to collaborate with renowned theater companies such as Great Lakes Theater, Karamu House, Playhouse Square, Cain Park, and Beck Center for the Arts.

When she's not on stage, Kechanté loves spending quality time with family and friends, writing music, braiding hair, and expressing herself through spoken word and slam poetry. An avid tennis player and traveler, she enjoys exploring new places and cultures. Her passion for acting extends to learning new accents, studying Shakespeare, and delving into acting techniques, with a particular fascination for the Meisner method.

As a proud first-generation American of Jamaican descent, Kechanté is fluent in Patois (Jamaican Creole) and embraces her rich cultural heritage. Above all, she is a devoted Christian, attributing her dedication and success to her faith in Jesus Christ.
